1. Place lace on vintage fabric at diagonals and sew using running stitch
2. Place lace on vintage fabric in a cross formation and sew using running stitch
3. Place cerise ribbon on diagonal lace and sew using running stitch
4. Place turquoise ric-rac on cross formation lace and sew using zig-zag stitch
5. Sew button in centre of cross over points
6. Place vintage fabric onto felt and sew two longest lengths and one shortest length together using running stitch
7. Fill cushion with wadding
8. Sew remaining shortest end using running stitch

Union Jack Trivia:
In 1603 James VI of Scotland inherited the English and Irish throne uniting then with Scotland. A new flag was designed to reflect this 'union'.
The jury is still out with reference to 'Jack' in the title, either being a shortened name for James or referring to the flag flown from a bowsprit of a ship.
