The Venue entrance for MOHE constituents


Crafting is good for your health and as such MOHE has collaborated with the Sir Stamford Hotel, Circular Quay housed in the former Health Department to host the quarterly gatherings.
We have been provided with a secluded and above all comfortable area in the bar where you will find MOHE located on the left hand side of the room by the historic fireplace. 




The Ministry maintains that a good venue for its activities should have; 
  • Comfortable seats with good springs
  • Large tables with clear space
  • Carpeted floor
  • Pleasant background music
  • Correct interior temperature according to season
  • Access to good lighting  
  • Provide warm food and and assortment of beverages
  • Secluded crafting area
  • Close to all forms of transport
  • Parking
  • Accommodation for out of state constituents

Do I need to book?
YES.
1. You need to book your place at the MOHE workshop. Click HERE to book and make payment.
2. If you wish to be served one of the 3 delicious afternoon high teas you MUST book with the Sir Stamford Hotel directly at least 48 hours in advance.
If you are ordering from the bar menu you do not need to order in advance.
Ordering the afternoon High Tea is YOUR responsibility - you must contact the hotel directly to book a high tea quoting "MOHE Workshop".
Please note if you cannot make the workshop after booking, you must contact them before the day of the workshop to CANCEL your afternoon High Tea. It is not acceptable to forgo cancelling when food has been catered for you.

LOCATION
Perfectly located in the heart of the city, this is possibly the most easily accessible venue for any craft group yet!

Close to all forms of transport

Bus (2 Min)
Catch a bus to circular Quay. 
Exit on Alfred Street.
Walk to the end of Alfred Street (Opera House side).
Follow road as it turns LEFT up the hill.
Cross the road so you are on the same side as the Police & Justice museum.
Continue walking to the top of the road.
The Venue is the building on the corner you are standing.

Train (2 Min)
Catch a train to circular Quay. 
Exit on Alfred Street.
Walk to the end of Alfred Street (Opera House side).
Follow road as it turns LEFT up the hill.
Cross the road so you are on the same side as the Police & Justice museum.
Continue walking to the top of the road.
The Venue is the building on the corner you are standing.

Ferry (2 Min)
Catch a ferry to circular Quay. 
Exit on Alfred Street.
Walk to the end of Alfred Street (Opera House side).
Follow road as it turns LEFT up the hill.
Cross the road so you are on the same side as the Police & Justice museum.
Continue walking to the top of the road.
The Venue is the building on the corner you are standing.

Car (2 Min)
Drive along Macquarie Street towards the Opera House.
Turn LEFT into Alfred Street just BEFORE the bridge going over the road (Cahill Express).
Turn a sharp LEFT into the hotel car park.


Parking
You can park under the hotel for a flat rate of $25. Just make sure you get your car park ticket processed by paying at reception before leaving.


Alternatively, if you are happy to walk a little and pay a flat fee of $10 then
Drive
Drive along College Street towards St. Mary's Cathedral.
Turn RIGHT just after the Cathedral.
Stay in the RIGHT of the fork road.
Turn LEFT into the Domain car park.
Walk
Exit from the car park into the Domain. 
Walk towards the MINT on Macquaire Street.
Continue walking down Macquarie Street toward the Opera House.
Cross the road at the Hospital.
Continue walking down Macquarie Street toward the Opera House.
The Sir Stamford will be on the LEFT before Alfred Street.
