Pimp my Shoes Workshop

Skills Required: Using Scissors and glue!
The Ministers presented 3 techniques to transform a pair of shoes from being consigned to the rubbish back onto the shoe shelves of your dressing room.

Constituents learnt the Victorian technique of manipulating fabric to make feathers. They chose textures to reflect the seasons, matched the colours to particular outfits and created a combination of shapes and sizes that would have maximum impact for a special occasion. In less than 30 minutes all attendees had created three magnificent plumes to adorn their person.

Constituents learnt the Georgian technique of ribbon rosettes & cockades, the 1940's technique of felt flowers and the Victorian technique of textile feathers. They chose textures and shapes to reflect the seasons, matched the colours to particular shoes creating a combination of different looks that had maximum impact for minimum effort. In less than 4 hours all attendees had created three fabulous projects that could be applied to shoes and other items in their wardrobe or home. In addition, they learnt several non-crafting ways to update some scuffed shoes and 30 ways in which to "Pimp" their faded footwear with ribbons, broken jewellery and more.

The Minister of Artistic License presented 7 simple steps to transform flat felt into 3D vintage looking flowers.
Constituents learnt the technique of manipulating felt to make 1940s inspired flowers. They chose flowers to reflect the seasons, matched the colours to particular outfits and created a combination of styles that had maximum impact for a special occasion. In less than 60 minutes all attendees had created a magnificent purple and lilac posy that showed their dedication to MOHE.

The Minister of Manipulation formulated a workshop where constituents could learn to do more with ribbons than ever thought humanly possible!

The Minister demonstrated with over 60 samples to alter the visual format of ribbon.During the workshop the Minister of manipulation shared examples of her creative ribbon explorations and gave suggestions as to incorporating the techniques into clothing, accessories, interior design and food products.

The Minister of Artistic Licence formulated a workshop where constituents could customise their wardrobe with a 'Made in Australia' authenticity. The Minister demonstrated various techniques to embellish a garment resulting in a couture addition to the constituents wardrobe.

Using ribbons, vintage flowers, buttons, broken jewellery, retro scraps of fabric and other delights the workshop was an opportunity to bring those pieces along and personalise a garment in a unique and innovative way.
